Imperial Green Supersat Roscopaint 5 litres
Rosco Supersaturated Paint is a highly pigmented acrylic paint designed for scenic artists. Made of single source artist grade pigment, uniquely formulated to be diluted with water and a flexible paint for fabric. It dries to a flat matt finish with no sheen and is water-resistant, suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
Rosco Supersaturated Paints should be diluted at least 1:1, with water, Rosco Clear Acrylic Glazes, or a combination of the two as necessary. Therefore, one litre of paint becomes at least two.
Paints can be diluted at a ratio of 1:1, for deep colours and opaque applications, through to 15:1 (water/glaze:paint), for shading techniques and translucent colour effects. This makes large scale scenic painting easy and cost effective, allowing for a variety of different shades from just one pot.
It is a flexible vinyl paint, making it the ideal solution for painting backdrops for photography or theatre onto a flexible surface that will become subject to folding or rolling.
The most pure pigment content of all Roscopaint, Supersat is available in over 20 colours, from Cerulean Blue to Velour Black, all of which can be mixed to give predictable results. Colours remain consistent under changing light conditions, on camera, when used as film paint for set design, or under stage lights in the theatre. Rosco Supersaturated is versatile paint for any scenic artist.
For more details on the colours available, see our Rosco Paint Colour Chart.
For a flame retardant finish when using powder or concentrated scenic paints, consider diluting them with Firecheck™ instead of with water.

Supersat Roscopaint Specifications and Application Guidance
- Finish: Dead flat / matt
- Solvent: Water based
- Binder: Vinyl acrylic co-polymer
- Dilution:Rosco Supersat can be used straight from container without dilution, but it is recommended dilute at least 1:1 with water, Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze or a combination of the two as necessary. Diluting will reduce the colour concentration and create "glaze" effects. Diluting with more than 5 parts water may reduce binder strength. Add in Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze to restore adhesion and flexibility.
- Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dirt and grease. Prime porous surfaces, except fabrics, using Rosco Tough Prime. If painting a new plaster surface, prime wall with a commercial primer/sealer designed for raw plaster. Then use Rosco Tough Prime as a final preparation.
- Application: Stir contents well before each use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray gun. Apply in thin uniform coats, using a good quality brush or roller. Use overlapping strokes, keeping a wet edge. Change roller direction often to avoid patterns and streaking.
- Film Thickness: 1:1 dilution = 1.5 mil. dry film ; Undiluted = 2 mil. dry film.
- Coverage: 1:1 dilution = approx. 8-10 square metres per liter, depending on substrate, application tool and film thickness.
- Average Dry Time: At 24°C, dries to the touch in 30-45 minutes. Can be recoated in 1-2 hours. Allow 72 hours for bond.
- Clean-up: Warm soap and water.
