Types of Smoke Fluid

At Stage Depot we offer a range of fluids that each offer their own levels of thickness depending on your required application.

Low Density / Quick Dissipating

These thinner smoke fluids are perfect for use within nightclubs or themed entertainment where low-density fluids are needed that don’t hang in the air and dissipate quickly. They can also be used to replicate the more expensive CO₂ effects making these perfect for use indoors without the need for any additional monitors.

Standard / Medium Density

A versatile choice for DJs and smaller theatres, these smoke effects are great for creating visible smoke effects, thicker than haze fluids, but that will not completely fill a room. These fluids are most commonly known as “universal” smoke fluids and usually have the greatest levels of compatibility with machines of all sizes.

High / Super High Density

Designed for use within large venues and stadium concerts, these fluids hang in the air considerably longer than other fluids, creating the effect of larger plumes of smoke. These fluids are often combined with large stages and within theme park attractions to create the effect of large amounts of smoke.

These types of fluids generally are used with larger machines, as the larger heater blocks within can accommodate the slightly thicker smoke fluid.

What is the difference between smoke and haze fluid?

Haze and smoke fluids, while both creating an atmospheric effect, have different uses. Haze fluids are generally used for a fine mist effect that hangs in the air much longer than fog fluids for use with moving head beams to create dramatic lighting effects.

Will smoke fluids set off my fire alarm?

Yes, when used in a confined space or in large quantities, these fluids can set off fire alarms. It is always worth checking with your venue before using any smoke effects regarding their policies and procedures.
